Dr Hofmeyr is a general ENT specialist who did his undergraduate and postgraduate training at the University of Cape Town. He worked extensively abroad in Ireland, the UK and Canada prior to opening his Cape Town private practice in 2008. He divides his time between his practices at Cape Town Mediclinic and Century City. He has weekly theatre lists at Intercare Day Hospital, Century City (Wednesday), Cape Town Mediclinic (Thursday) and Milnerton Mediclinic (Friday). He sees both paediatric and adult patients with ear, nose or throat issues. Common surgical procedures include sinonasal operations (obstructed nasal airways, sinusitis, snoring), adenoidectomies, tonsillectomies, insertion of grommets, repair of eardrum perforations, vocal cord polyps etc.
